Roughly 80% of children’s learning is achieved through the visual system. Many eye problems, including nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and amblyopia, can occur in early childhood. Regular vision examinations help assure that your child’s eyes are healthy, the eyes are properly aligned, and the vision is clear.
BE ALERT FOR SYMPTOMS OF AN EYE PROBLEM:
– squinting
– one or both eyes turning in, out, up, or down
– head turn or tilt
– frequent headaches
– frequent rubbing of eyes or tearing
– sitting close to the TV ( and indicating an inability to see if made to sit further away)
– eye pain
– disinterest in near work such as coloring or reading
– eye redness or crusting of eyelids or lashes
– difficulty copying notes from the blackboard
– covering one eye when looking at a book or object.

Our office staff welcomes children and we make every effort to make the examination a positive experience for both the child and the parent.
